Apple is on a roll these days. With the successful relaunch of iphone, a great news for ipod lovers is the new Apple product iLoad allows you to copy CDs to your iPod without using a computer. Instead of booting up a computer, loading the CD onto iTunes and then into your iPod, the iLoad allows the transfer in a single procedure. You can copy the entire CD or just the tracks you want by toggling between some commands that appear on the LCD screen of the iLoad.
Talking of iLoad,it comes with an onboard music database that recognizes artist and track information from the commercial music CDs you load on it. Remember if its a personal compilation or an audiobook you’re copying, the iLoad probably won’t have it in its built-in database. There’s a way to get that info later and replace the “Track 1, Track 2 … ” identifiers with the correct information. However, that step’s a bit trickier and requires you to plug in an Internet connection to the back of the iLoad and access a larger online database.
The iLoad has lots of new features. If you are unsure whether you want to copy a track or not, you can easily listen to it by plugging the iPod earbuds to the back of the iLoad. iLoad alos facilitates you to back up and manage remotely with one interface involving the HP ProLiant DL360 G5 server, with your iPod to a USB flash drive or a hard disk. You can’t pick individual songs or albums with this, but instead do a full backup of everything on your iPod. It takes some time about 7 minutes per 100 songs.
