Microsoft’s New Generation Workplace for Mobiles with Office Communications Server

Microsoft is introducing 15 mobile phones that integrate with its Office Communications Server 2007 and Office Communicator 2007. The communications software unifies e-mail, instant messaging and video conferencing functions. Users of these phones can do things like click on an e-mail to make a VoIP call.Features:-

->Unifies e-mail
->Instant messaging
->Video conferencing functions
->VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) for making a call

Advantages:-

New phones connect directly to a USB port so to use the phone with laptops to access features traditionally limited to desk phones, such as call forwarding and conferencing.

Steps by Microsoft:-

Microsoft is providing other device manufacturers with design specifications to help assure customers that new phones and devices work easily with Office Communications Server and Office Communicator.

Release and Availability:-

The package is available to users who are part of a public beta program.
