DMOZ and Yahoo directories no more important says Google

Over the years there has been a lot of buzz to submit you website or blog link to high Page Rank (PR) directories like DMOZ or Yahoo web directories. By submitting the link to these web directories it was also easy to get your website indexed in search engines. Earlier it was also a Google guideline to webmasters:

Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.
